What’s included ?
Your experienced and specialist Yoga instructors come to the retreat to offer their expertise for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced practitioners. We often take two instructors, so we can divide up the groups so everyone has a chance to go at their speed.
Lou Hedderly – Beginner to Advanced level
Lou began practicing Yoga to reduce the symptoms of stress that were beginning to show in her busy career and lifestyle. She was surprised how quickly the positive changes appeared within her overall well-being and the incredible benefits Yoga provided. In 2015, Lou made the decision to leave her career in Marketing and Advertising to start a new chapter of her life. She travelled to Costa Rica and completed her Immersive teacher training in Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga.
Lou is part of our management team and teaches our Power Flow, Restorative and Beginners classes at Ebb&Flow. A creative by heart, caring and kind individual who has found her vocation in life. She will encourage you to be present and love yourself whilst finding strength, fluidity and inner stillness, both on and off the mat.
Is it for me?
The majority of people come on their own and make great friendships, the yoga instructors and their helpers are extremely welcoming, there is always the perfect balance of having people to talk to but having solo time too!
Beginners to Yoga are welcome, we have a specialist Beginners Instructor coming with us, we want to encourage all levels of students to share their experiences and learn from each other. All equipment is provided – just bring yourself!
What if I’m Intermediate/advanced level? We look at the level of student attending and then add a second instructor to suit. When we talked to our Yoga members to find out what a good retreat looks like, they overwhelmingly said they preferred to have separate groups so that the beginners can have time to learn and develop at their pace and the intermediates/advanced Yogis can progress their practice.

Where is it?
A short hop east of Faro, Olhão (pronounced ol-yow) is one of the Algarve’s marina villages, with a wonderful waterfront and pretty, bustling lanes in its old quarters. Moorish-influenced neighbourhoods and North African feel make it a special place to wander.
The best way to get to know Olhao is to walk out of the front door and wander down to the waterfront. Getting lost in the twisted network of cobbled streets along the way is part of the fun. When you get to the sea front, there are fabulous food and shopping markets at the water’s edge and a host of restaurants, cafes and bars to relax in along the way.
We love it for it’s down to earth laid back charm, warm and hospitable people, creative community, cobbled streets and faded grandeur.
The Olhao Islands:
The islands are easy to get to from our home (10 min walk to the waterfront): River taxi’s will take you on trips to the islands. It takes 10ish minutes depending on the island you go to. With Armona, Culatra, Farol and Deserted islands all very close there is so much choice. each with a slightly different vibe. You may be lucky and get to see the dolphins too!
