Ebb & Flow -

Pregnancies

Congratulations! For the safety of you and your baby we allow students who are 12 weeks pregnant or more, to go to the pre-natal classes we provide. We can however allow you to go to the Candlelit Restorative classes on Thursday if you are prior to the 12 weeks stage .  Please book onto the suitable class or course of classes to enjoy your pregnancy with yoga.

Injuries

Before your class begins please inform your teacher of any injuries, pains or surgery that may be relevant.  It is your responsibility to keep the teachers updated with injuries – they can often give you tips and ideas for modifications to help you.

Hygiene

We take pride in cleaning our beautiful studios, all mats are cleaned after class by our wonderful studio experience team. Please leave your mat where it is after class and we will take care of it.

Please turn off your phone and leave it in your locker

We kindly as that phones are left on silent in the safe lockers provided.

Remove your shoes

Remove all shoes at reception, we also have a place for your coat there too.

Be mindful of the noise levels

Please respect the silence in the yoga rooms, when you enter find yourself a mat and lie down in relaxation, this will help you calm the mind and before before yoga.

I’m late for my class, can I still go in?

Out of respect, we start classes on time and do not allow latecomers to enter the room. Please arrive at the studio at least 10 minutes before to ensure you can attend class. The doors to the class close 5 mins before the class starts, we are firm about this policy as the class should be a centering environment where students are free from distraction, any disruptions can disturb both the teacher and the student.

Eating & Drinking

To avoid discomfort in class it is recommended to not eat 2 hours prior to your yoga practice. If you are hungry, have something light. However as a rule, never practice if you are too hungry or too full. Feel free to bring your water bottle into the class.  We do sell water, snacks and energy balls all freshly home-made.  We are a cashless business though so bring your debit card!

How come the classes are heated? Does this make the class more challenging?

Many of our classes are practiced in a heated room, the warm temperature stretches the muscle fibres and tendons to help prevent injury as you work through the postures. It also increases circulation throughout the body to enhance your immune system and encourage tissue repair. These yoga classes do feel more challenging because of the heat, which is why it is important to pace yourself and work with an intensity that works best for you.

What if I am not that flexible?

Yoga & Pilates promote flexibility, you do not have to be flexible to start. Both exercises lengthen and expand the muscles whilst helping to release toxins that build up in the body over time. Becoming more flexible is a benefit of both Pilates and Yoga, however it is not the ultimate goal.

What do I need to know for my first visit to Ebb&Flow?
