…you’ve fallen pregnant but are now not sure what to do about exercise?
Maybe you had an exercise routine before you became pregnant, and then were not sure what was ok to do, or not to do? Or maybe you weren’t doing anything regularly?
Well the good thing is, you don’t need any prior experience to take part in prenatal yoga! Nor do you even need to have done exercise previously.
Who is it for?
Prenatal yoga is for everyone over 12 weeks, as it’s gentle, set at a slow steady pace, and open to everyone whether you have previously done yoga, or never done any yoga before at all! It could be the perfect class for you to take up during your pregnancy to help keep you active, and also give you the tools to keep any stress or anxiety levels down with different breathing techniques and other tips I will share with you.
What can I expect?
During a typical prenatal class you can expect to step into a beautiful bright airy studio that holds no more than 10 students, where you can meet other mummas to be! The vibe is always very relaxed and friendly, many ladies are local, and make lovely connections sharing tips and tricks with one another.
The class is 75 minutes long, and during the first 60 minutes we spend time stretching, strengthening, releasing aches and pains, flowing through yoga postures that are safe for pregnancy, and learning some breathing techniques that could be really helpful during labour, as well as things like anxiety and stress. To end the session, there is a long relaxation with guided meditation, blankets, bolsters and relaxing music – the perfect recipe to help you relax deeply!
