Sari LambeekAshtanga Led and Mysore
Sari worked in the corporate world in Finland and in the USA. However, she has been following her Dutch husband’s work assignments to Europe, Asia and Australia for over 20 years now. She has reinvented herself several times by getting a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, by becoming a certified yoga teacher and by learning to design websites. She has practiced different styles of yoga since 2005.
Sari says “I teach different styles of yoga from active Ashtanga style to passive Yin style, I have just qualified in Children’s Yoga recently “
All of my classes are multilevel classes, so no previous experience in yoga is needed. I talk about alignment and always give different variations of the poses to make sure the students are safe.
She worked as a full time yoga teacher at Hom Yoga in Singapore in January 2014 – May 2015, teaching regularly 10-20 classes a week. Her main Yoga practice is Ashtanga, a style of yoga handed down and popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois. It is often promoted as a modern-day form of classical Indian yoga. Ashtanga yoga is based on set sequences of poses which are synchronized with breath
As part of Sari’s yoga development she decided to train with the amazing Norman Blair, from her intensive immersion training in Yin style yoga. In a Yin yoga practice, all the postures are sitting, where long holds of a pose are encouraged to emphasise relaxation of the muscular tissue.
