Sorrel DrakeFlow & Restore
Sorrel qualified as a yoga teacher in 2014 and fell in love with teaching from day one. She’s always talking to Ebb&Flow about keeping her standards of yoga teaching to the highest level and to ensure that yoga is an inclusive discipline, so everyone can enjoy it no matter your experience.
She does love teaching advanced poses and a dynamic class where it’s needed, but she also gets so much from slowing it down, teaching a steady, gentle class so that those who are still mastering the poses can learn in a non intimidating way.
In 2016 she opened her own yoga studio in Hertfordshire but after 3 years felt it was time to step away and start a fresh. Sorrel says “Owning my own studio was a dream which also gave me the opportunity to hold lots of charity events and classes, affording me the platform to be the organiser for the Gratitude Festival in 2019 and a global online 108 sun salutation event.”
After becoming a Yoga Alliance Experienced Teacher she then set up a Teachers Mentoring Program, aimed at guiding teachers who are new to the industry.
She has been privileged to have continued her training with some world famous teachers including David Swenson, David Williams, Stewart Gilchrist, Dharma Mittra Kathryn Budig, Jason Crandell and Sharath Jois to name a few.
Apart from yoga you will usually find Sorrel out in her garden or out exploring, taking long walks with her ‘Olympian’ ski team husband and dog Nelly.
