Reiki is a natural energy healing system founded by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s in Japan. It works on four levels: Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual. Reiki is a deeply relaxing treatment, transmitting energy via the practitioner’s hands and enhancing the natural healing abilities of the receiver. Energy is not given by the practitioner but rather drawn by the recipient where it is most needed.
It’s important to know that Reiki is not the substitute for any medical treatment. It’s not a practice that is used to cure, but to simply help alleviate and encourage emotional and/or physical healing. The healing energy is channeled through the body, allowing it to flow freely from head to toe, releasing energy blockages along the way. There is a strong correlation between our energetic body and our physical body, and Reiki is used as a form of relaxation to help reduce stress and promote emotional and physical healing.

Reiki is so powerful it can help with all kinds of things, as mentioned above…
“For me personally; I have a chronic lung condition – which often leaves me quite tight chested and congested, making general breathing quite difficult. Reiki helps tremendously with this. For as little as 15 minutes as I wake up or perhaps a little longer during the day if I feel my body needs it.
I’ve known of Reiki for as long as I can remember. I have an Aunty in New Zealand who has practiced Reiki for over 20 years, I owe a lot to her for introducing me so early on, believing in me and encouraging me to explore further! She often gave me Reiki to help me sleep and alleviate any symptoms I perhaps was feeling at the time. I believe I’ve been attuned and connected from then onwards.
There’s something really special about being able to give a treatment that I personally have gained so much from and now to be able to give that to someone else is magical.”
